Christ for all Nations is a ministry of miracles. God choose a 50 year old widow with a heart for the Navajo Nation to continue in this mission field for almost thirty years, Lazelle Powell.
Her experience of seeing God at work, will remind you of Hezekiah, when he began to rebuild the Temple.
Lazelle was widowed in 1978. Prior to the passing of her husband, she had been content to work for years with her Pastor in their home church but the desire to become a missionary was burning in her heart. In 1979, she enrolled in CFNI Bible College in Dallas,Texas where she earned an Associate Degree in Practical Theology. During and after her schooling she traveled to war torn Lebanon, Israel and Jamaica teaching and ministering. In 1983 she helped organize a mission that would work among the Navajo Indians called His Kingdom Extended. Through many trials and tribulations she proved steadfast and unmovable. When all the other partners in His Kingdom Extended were called to different mission work or jobs, Lazelle was left alone. She knew in her heart God had brought her to this Nation of people.
God proved himself by sending talented contractor's, carpenter's, plumber's, painter's, tile/brick layers as well as others with gifts of cooking, cleaning, planting and harvesting. Year after year the volunteers would come back and pour into this mission field. The Lord also sent wonderful ministers and teachers. Many souls were taught about Jesus and many have been saved.
Some very special people partnered with Lazelle throughout the years. A young pastor named Rudy Yazzee, a Navajo preacher, made the biggest impact as he had such a heart for his people. Each year he made a circuit around the Navajo Nation. He grew weary because of lack of good teaching throughout the year and many would have returned to their old wicked ways. While the first building at CFAN was going up Rudy would lay prostrate on the floor and pray and cry very loud that God would send teachers to this building to teach his people about Jesus. Lazelle feels that CFAN was the answer to his and many other Navajo’s prayers.
After the passing of Lazelle in 2020, Lazelle's daughter, Leah Powell Bedgood stepped up to serve as President and CEO of Christ For All Nations New Mexico. Her other children who all in live in Lousiana all stay involved in the ministry and were big supporters of Lazelle's
Today if you visit CFAN in Lybrook, New Mexico you will see a miracle of God. In the harsh beauty of the Southwestern American wilderness, a beautiful campus has been built-and dedicated to the Glory of God. This is what can happen when God’s people work together. CFAN has licensed Navajo ministers and one Sioux Indian minister to teach God;s word to their people. This is our prayer to be Christ For All Nations fulfilling The Great Commisson.
